Lt Christmas dinner!

We had an amazing Christmas dinner at Minde's place. Such a pity I don't have a picture of all those dishes that we made. By an Lithuanian catholic tradition on the Christmas table should be at least 12 non-meat dishes. I prepared traditional dish called "Selyodka pod shuboj". In fact it's completely impossible to find herring in Bolzano, and it is not because it all is sold out. It is because they either do not consider it as a good fish, or there is no such fish in Italian rivers. Anyway, I had a risky solution to replace herring with something else. The only fish that I knew in the shop more or less suitable was salmon, so I tried it and it was great!

Minde prepared traditional Lithuanian Christmas "Poppy milk" drink. In fact, I have never heard or that before. It turned out to be very tasty. Ok, I could go on describing dishes we had, but I have to go to shop for presents. I am going home soon!!
