Day 3, still Honk Kong: main sightseeings

Our day started from visiting 46 floor of one of the highest buildings. In fact we could get higher than that, but the building didn't have any special any area for a good view from the top, except 46 floor.

Big Buddha
This statue is a “must see” sightseeing in Hong Kong, which is the biggest bronze Buddha in the world. To reach Buddha we took a cable car that goes through the bay and Hong Kong mountains. An Indian boy in our cable car while we were passing by the bay was very curious what gonna happen to us if we fall down into the water. Will we die because of the lack of oxygen or will we die because of the power we will hit the weather with cable car. American woman in front of us was so scared that she just closed her eyes and opened one eye only from time to time to see if we are there yet. Finally I met someone who is more scared to ride cable cars than me :)

There was a small village close to Buddha which had such tree. It looked so realistic, that it took me a while to realize the tree was fake.

We were extremely lucky with the weather that day, which was sunny and allowed us to see Buddha the whole, which usually is no the case. Most of the time you see only his body since the head is in smog.

Andrejs decided to high-five Buddha!

Three other Buddha's statues on the top

Tai O fishing village is a village nearby Big Buddha and is not considered to be the main sight seeing. You won't see many tourist in there, but I am glad we had chance to visit it. This village is still situated in Hong Kong island, but the contrast between rich and huge Hong Kong city and small fishing village, that we called “Local Venice”, is quite impressive.

People here earn money only by catching the fish and selling it. Except of fish it's difficult to find something else to buy there.

The streets are full of people selling fresh, dry, smoked, fried fish.
Big dry fish!
