Day 8: Countryside bicycle trip

This day we continued exploring the countryside of Yangshuo by bicycle. This time we did it with local Chinese guide and with Silke and Vance. Our guide spoke quite a good English, which is so rare in China. Surprising thing that he learned English all by by himself from the book and improved it by communicating with tourists.
Riding bicycle

A little waterfall on Li river

Some people do rafting on bamboo boats

Lady caring her baby

Later we arrived to one small village famous for it's big and very old tree, called Banyan, planted in 581 b.c.

In the village we saw many Chinese girls trying on traditional national dresses of that region to take a picture in it. I also tried it!

To take a picture of me in that dress I sat on the grass and Andrejs was about to make it when I saw same Chinese people coming towards and asking to take picture together, mostly men ;)

After a while there was quite a crowd of people standing in line to take picture, probably for them it was very unusual or funny that someone not Chinese is wearing their national costume. Also Chinese men liked Andrejs very much.

In the village we took a ride on a bamboo boat which we were steering by ourselves.

Late in the evening after returning back to Yagshuo we ate a local specialty - the beer fish, the fish that is fried using beer. To have beer together with the beer fish is also very good. B.t.w Chinese people like beer very much, and produce lots of different kinds. We tryed some. Chinese beer is very good!
