If you ever plan to visit something in China, make sure this doesn't happen on the 1st of May. This day is very important for Chinese, so what they do is they mostly try to go to some famous place in China. Unluckily we didn't know about it and went to the bus station to buy tickets to see the big Buddha statue in Leshan town, which is about 1.5 hours from they place we stayed. When we arrived to the bus station it was so crowded that, if not a Chinese guy that we met and asked for direction, we wouldn't make it this day. We stood in line about 1 hour to buy tickets and then another hour to get into the bus.
When we entered the park of grand Buddha we saw another huge queue which was only the half of the real one!
We stood in line 2.5 hours! Some days later we met a guy who said he waited for 7 hours couple of years ago in summer, so 2.5 maybe shouldn't seem to be so bad after all.
The grand Buddha (71 m high) is the biggest Buddha in the world!
Buddha's big head
We spent about half an hour going down the steep stairs to the feet of Buddha, with some good view along the way, and up the other side.

Buddha's huge feet is 8 m!

The picture with the little girl, smaller than the toe of Buddha is so nice! It seems you had multiple experiences that day: you could see the plentifulness of the Chinese (which I guess is a must, it is one of main traits of their nation), and the greatness of Buddha.
I'm starting to get jealous now ;-) All these trips one after another into different worlds. Look really amazing.
Cu in London.
And greet Andrejs.
Cool:)
The last National Geographic issue is about China. There was a map of the country included. We put it to the wall and started pointing the places we are planning to visit next year:) Want more and more advices from you.
