I am unbelievably happy today! I found a German fast food restaurant close to my work place. They sell very tasty German sausages with sauerkraut and fried potatoes! Moreover people working there are Germans, which is a good sign, since they know how to make proper German food :) One of the other pleasant recent discoveries was also an Italian fast food place selling yummy piadinas, but since it's quite expensive I can't go there every day.
In fact I am quite sick of eating typical English lunch consisting of sandwiches or some foreign food made by English with their interpretations. Sometimes I have an impression that people in fast food restaurants, hopefully just in my work area, have no idea how to combine food. It's considered to be quite normal to get for lunch lasagna served with french fries or steak together with both - rise and potatoes. And it's not like something you can choose to add, but it's actually the real dish consisting of all those ingredients.

I just remembered once i had English professor, who was living in London for many years (or maybe she was even born there). And she was making anti-promotion of English food:) by saying that it is the worst food in the whole World. Is it really sooo bad?
In general most of people here eat sandwiches for lunch, and they are not getting sick of them...but I am, even if they are not bad at all...I prefer different food, but then it all comes to fast food, because I don't have time to prepare my own. And fast food is not so good obviously... But on the other hand British are good at making good steaks, shepherds pie, mashes, fish and some other things, basically all that is considered to be traditional. So all in all it's not so bad in fact :)
:) i also quite liked the typical english food; if you go to a decent place..
but what i find really funny is that in the whole wide world there actually exists a place like a 'german food shop'! i never ever would have thought so... it's not that we're that famous for our dishes... but glad you like it! :)
yes, and there are also some German Christmas markets, we 've been to one today they sell Gluehwein there, and not only, not bad at all
