Cinevilla

From time to time we try to make little trips not far from the place we live and as we rented a car for a time being it is much more convenient to travel. Yesterday we went to visit a filming location of a famous Latvian movie "Rigas Sargi". I personally found movie so cheesy that I hardy could bare watching it whole, but Andrejs did watch it till the end and in his opinion it wasn't bad. I, however, always wanted to visit the location of the move filming. It was not too far away, however we took the wrong turn on the road and were driving really long time through some small villages and fields until we found it (not without help of people we met on the way).

Cinevilla, is a small version of Old Riga in the times of the beginning of 20-th century. The houses, roads, bridges, church, even Daugava (the river) were all built from scratch especially for that movie. Later Cinevilla was used for some other movie filming and some more buildings were built in that area. It probably will expand with more movies later.

Views of Cinevilla

It might seem like an ordinary building from the street side, just you can't enter it.
