Little trick

Apparently it's quite easy to encourage Mark to walk holding just one hand. All you need to do is to pay his attention at ceiling lamp. There is a reason for that. Since he arrived to Jurmala his favorite object in the kitchen became a lamp. He would look at it, point finger and say "pa" (meaning "lampa"). But later it happened to all the lamps in the house, whenever he would pass any lamp he would point finger at it and say "pa" :) He especially loves when he can regulate lights by himself. There are several switches that he could reach in the house. And one is above our bed. In the mornings Mark demands climbing on our bed just to be able to play with light. He switches on the light and immediately looks up to see the effect, then would switch it off and comment on it with his "pa" :) This makes him feel very happy I think. So now when I tell Mark to look at the lamp while walking he would point finger at lamp and forget he is walking by holding just one hand.
