One thing you probably can't do in Scotland is travelling without a car. Not only it's unreliable (again because of extremely fast changing weather conditions) it also is difficult as trains are very expensive for long distances and buses only run for short distances. We rented a car and I also was driving (for the first time in UK!!!). It was weird at the beginning! Especially the fact that transmission is navigated with the left hand. But after several days of driving it looks now as usual as if it always has been the left side.
Scotland is huge and there are just too many places worth seeing and even 5 days we enthusiastically dedicated to see "almost everything" were so not enough. I've got many things to show and to tell about Scotland but I will start from England a big a also very beautiful territory you have to drive through before reaching Scotland. There is one thing I didn't see in Scotland but England is full of them. It's rapeseed fields. I couldn't take my eyes of them and couldn't drive by without stopping to enjoy them.
