My hope, however, to eat a mountain of pancakes disappeared as soon as we found a place selling them (there was only 2 or 3 of them) and started queueing. After 10 minutes without any movement in the queue we realized it's hopeless, and went to Pret a Manger to eat sandwiches. Some pictures from that day

Maslenitsa
We read in Russian newspaper about Sunday's Maslenitsa event in Trafalgar square. I wasn't quite sure what's the event is going to be about, however suspected it's going to include a market with lots of traditional Russian food including pancakes. I was quite excited and kept thinking about a mountain of delicious Russian pancakes I will eat. The event however didn't turn out to be exactly as I have imagined. Instead of a food market there was a concert of Russian national dances and songs. I was very surprised to find out that there were many famous Russian groups and singers performing traditional dances and songs on the scene. We found it quite amuzing and I think Mark liked it more than anyone else in the crowd and was dancing and singing along.
