Day 14-15, Lijiang

After Dali we arrived late to Lijiang, another old town of Yunnan province.

If somebody (before coming to Lijiang) would tell me Chinese are very party people I wouldn't believe it. But in Lijiang I had a chance to see it! In the old town there was no single quiet place without loud musing, dancing people or drinking beer all over!

We in particular were searching for a quiet place to have dinner in, after a long bus trip from Dali. We didn't succeed. It seemed that all of them were competing for who would be the loudest, which together with the red lights created an incredible atmosphere. sometimes in bars/restaurants you could hear Russian pop music, which was very surprising, since you hardly can see any Russian tourists or Chinese that would speak Russian or sing along with the music.

The next day the whole morning we spent in one cute cafe from which we could see what is going on in the main square.
I am writing my blog

Very soon some women in national costumes came to show some dance performance.

In Yunnan province towns you often see people dancing in the city squares national dances, and not necessarily in national costumes. Dancing in the square is most of the time is not even a tourist attraction, it's just how people have fun during their free time.
Waterwheel at the entrance of the old town

Lijiang appeared to be also very clean, here people are crazy about cleanness. In canals and little lakes they clean water several times per day.

Canals

Not only in Lijiang, but in the rest of China you can't really see babies being in baby carriages, parents carry their babies on their backs.

In Lijiang locals own the shops where they make things and sell them right away.

Men selling fruits an vegetables on the moving carriage, once he sold something he continues going around with his carriage.
