Barcelona
For our wedding anniversary we went to Barcelona. Barcelona isn't a very huge city but there are lots of things to do. It was very hard to see everything in 3 days, so we decided not to hurry and just enjoy our time. While going through our pictures I just realised that I am missing a least half of them. How did that happen I don't know, but I am guessing I didn't copy all of them from sd card and later deleted them from it.
It was my 2 time in Barcelona, I remembered how much i liked it that time and decided that Andrejs (who has never been there before) must see it. He didn't mind in fact. Most of the time we walked along lovely small and old streets of Barcelona's old city center, hanging around in cafes and small bars, eating Tapas (Spanish snacks) and drinking Sangria. Sangria was so popular in Barcelona that whenever you go there always will be someone who would drink it. And it was very good too, and not as strong as wine and served in big glasses.
In the end of summer the weather in Barcelona is still quite hot and many people hang out by the beach. Me and Andrejs also went there to enjoy sun and have some swim. I also got some Asian massage, apparently illegal, as in the middle of it the lady run away once she saw the police strolling along the beach and came back after they were gone. Can't complain about the massage though, was very nice.
We went to see singing fountains performance, La Pedrera, walked around famous and were very impressed by Sagrada Famiglia, took a cable car to MontJuic mountain with an old castle, visited Miro art museum nearby and of cause strolled along La Rambla, the most famous street of Barcelona.
For our wedding anniversary dinner we chose to go to a restaurant chosen long before we came to Barcelona (a recommendation from my work colleague, a Barceonean guy), which in the end we didn't go to. On the way to the restaurant we were walking by such a cute little square nearby an old church with 3 small restaurants and absolutely amazing atmosphere and we went no further. I haven't seen such a small square nowhere else before, we absolutely loved it and spent the rest of the evening enjoying Tapas with Sangria and music of street musicians.
