In Lapa there is an Arcos da Lapa, an impressive aqueduct constructed in by colonial authorities. Now it is no longer used to transport water but is still usable. For trams!
In one of the evenings we went to see Brazilian dance performance, including many national dances of different parts of Brazil, which we so different from one another and very colorful.
On the way back to UK we had a chance to spend several hours in Rio before flying back. It was a late flight, so as I remembered several people recommended to go Rio Scenarium for some drinks. It's sort of a night club/bar but where peope of any age is welcome. We entered a very spacious room full of antiques which at first looked like a museum. There were plenty of tables around, and a scene. Antiques were simply everywhere. There are collections of all kinds - clocks, scooters, radios, mannequins - lining every wall and corner. Then we noticed that this place in not just 1 floor! It was 3 or floors up! We climbed up to see what was there. And it was almost the same, all antiques, huge space, tables and a scene. We came when Rio Scenarium was just about to open, so we were among the first people and had a chance to chose a good table. But in half an hour so many people came that there wasn't any sitting places anymore. Live music was great and many people danced near the scene, we however just sat and drank Brazilian Beer enjoying all this cool atmosphere. In couple of hours we had to get back to the airport, but were very happy to have a chance to visit such place. No pictures from me, but there are plenty pictures of Rio Scenarium online.
