Vila Gale

Angra is a resort in South-east Brazil with 365 islands nearby. We spent 4 days in Angra in a 5 star hotel. It was my first time staying in such hotel with all drinks and food included. There was so much food and it was so good, and it was hard to resist not to eat even when you aren't particularly hungry. I think I never even felt hungry on that resort. Food was very different and delicious every day and drinks (including alcohol drinks) were also free. Next to the beach hotel staff was making cocktails and any kinds of shakes. You could choose any fruits you like and they would make it a shake out of it. There were so many new fruits for us (those who were non-Brazilians) that we experimented with every possible fruit combinations. I can't even remember those fruits names. I remember however I drank a milk shake with avocado. Avocados in Brazil are different from "European" avocados, they are huge and more sweet! The milkshake had an unusual taste, I can't say i didn't like it, but I can't claim it was wonderful either.

The resort was called Vila Gale and had a private beach with very still water despite being on the shore of the ocean. No waves, not even very little ones. Every day there was a live music concerts with Brazilian songs and music, also a disco room with karaoke. It was very hard to agree on what to sing so that everyone from our company would know the song, so we chose the most known ones from the Beatles. Brazilians were impressed or maybe thought we were rather crazy to come all together to sing, but were applauding very intensively.

One day we went for a walk outside the resort to see wild monkeys. It wasn't long until we found them. We did couple of small trips outside Vila Gale to explore little towns around before we went to our last Brazilian destination - Iguassu Falls.
