Seville

Mom was visiting us in London for couple of with 1 week of holidays in between when we went to Southern Spain. For the last 10 years my mom kept saying that it has always been her dream to go there. I don't know why she didn't go there before, but I didn't mind booking flights and going there with her. Seville was stunning! Apart from 2 main top things to see Seville's Cathedral and Alcazar palace there also were many other highlights. I didn't expect from this city to be so beautiful.

Seville is said to be the hottest town in Spain, and even in the beginning of October temperature there was most of the time above 30 and we had follow local siesta tradition of taking a nap during hottest hours of the day. Before going to Southern Spain I thought that tradition of siesta is something really weird and only followed by lazy people. I totally get it now as it is essential for survival in such unbearably hot towns like  Seville.

Food was good, especially tapas and sangria, but not as cheap as we expected. Also I was quite surprised by local coffee which I expected to be just like Italian, however it was very different. Typical local coffee is very strong served in a glass and contains 3 times quantity of Italian espresso. I probably wouldn't drink this coffee more than ones a day.

One thing I think very remarkable for Seville as it has a completely crazy narrow and confusing old town streets. Old town of Seville is really big but following the map didn't help much either, because most of the streets are so small that they aren't shown on the map and are so much alike and so short and curvy and  it always seems like you have already been there. During our 3 day stay we got lost on the same streets again and again.
